Requirements for Application

Be between 14 and 17 years old on the program start date (admission is permissible if the participant will turn 18 during the program).
Have high motivation for learning intercultural skills but have economic difficulty to participate in the program.
Have proficiency in English (ability to read written content including videos subtitled in English, comment in forums, and understand the live sessions).
Access a computer, smartphone or other digital device with an integrated webcam and mic plus a stable internet (wifi) connection for taking part in the online live sessions and to access the GY Program content and forum.
Be available to participate in the five-week GYA program starting from August 1, 2023 (fixed) .
Commit to share a follow up reflection with us after completing the GYA program.

Virtual Horizon: Unlocking Boundless Possibilities

You will have

20 different go-at-your-own-speed modules, which take around 16 hours to complete over 5 weeks
4 online facilitated dialogue sessions where they will connect with the global peers in their cohort, as well as an AFS Qualified Facilitator, to reflect on the content, exchange ideas, and participate in group discussion as they build global competence skills
A closed online forum for connecting and sharing with global peers
AFS Global Competence Certificate upon program completion

About AFS Global You™ Adventurer

A 5-week interactive virtual exchange program, open to teens (aged 14-17) anywhere in the world, to develop key 21st-century global skills and build bridges across cultures.

This is a one-of-a-kind virtual program where you will enhance your intercultural communication skills and become part of a truly global community. In addition to having fun, you’ll learn from AFS intercultural learning experts based on more than 70 years of experience running exchange programs and other education programs in more than 60 countries.
