Antarabudaya Malaysia’s 15th Annual General Meeting saw active participation from attendees who posed a variety of questions that ranged from scholarships to employee benefits, programme fees and rental incomes.
Two retiring Directors of the Board were re-elected, namely Daniel Yap and Suraya Zainudin, although the latter’s re-election was not without contention as she was not present due to a prior commitment. As a result, the Board agreed to include a standing order that a director seeking re-election shall be present at the meeting.
The meeting also noted that the Foundation had recorded a healthy revenue for 2021 in contrast to the deficit position of 2020. National Director Atty Sulaiman informed that this was due to conscious cost-saving measures such as conducting online meetings, reducing operational and administrative expenses and adopting a hybrid approach to meetings and activities, including online interview sessions for candidates and shortening the duration of in-person orientation and camping activities by half.
Board Chair Khalilah Talha also expressed gratitude and appreciation to retiring board member Elangesgwaran a/l Muthusamy for his support to the Foundation during his two-term of service.
